For Publication in Church News Letters: Please publish the Stats along with our needs in your Newsletters. We feel this would give your congregation a better idea of how many people Good Sam helps. (Our only form of communication is through the churches and KGRO/KMOX Radio Station). Thank You!!!!!
July 2011 Stats: Families in (479), New included in count (38) Families Not Helped (4), Families Helped (475) Total in the Families (1,825), Food (379), Clothing (129), Utilities (27), Medical (4), Lodging (6), Transportation (13), Other (52).
Board Meeting Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
GOOD SAM’S “BLESSINGS”:
1. First Pentecostal Holiness has joined Good Samaritan’s roster of support. Benny Wyant will represent them on our Board
2. Jeanne Bailey-Central Baptist (Good Sam Volunteer Coordinator) –Motivator Extraordinaire of the “Senior Classes” at Central Baptist. (A) Challenged them to bring 1 towel and 1 wash cloth each – She collected 58 towel sets, 4 fans and some pots and pans. WOW!
3. Central Baptist VBS donated their offerings to Good Sam’s. It was the biggest check we have ever received! It measures 37 inches x 17 inches! (Usual check is 6” x 3”) (Amount $720.21) and is on display in our office. Come and admire.
4. James and Burdina Richardson washing, drying 2 huge cartons of sodas.
5. All the wonderful grandchildren that belong to Volunteers that help in summer (A) Mary Fulton – Janell and Heather Parks (B) Joy Bivins – Kristin & Jeramie Bivins and Cameron Schaub and friend Madison (C) Marie Niccum – Skye Lee.
Our Special “THANKS”
1. Mrs. Baird’s for bread and sweets.
2. High Plains Food Bank for the delicious freebies: limes, mangoes, green peppers, sodas, scrumptious watermelons and potatoes.
3. Churches bring much needed food:, Cornerstone, First Methodist, First Christian, Presbyterian AND all the churches that brought food AND left no name.
4. All the “Pampa People” donating Brown and Plastic sacks, clothes and personal hygiene items.
5. Phil Meek, back from sick leave (he did surgery on his finger with a saw) he spent 2 days installing a new lock on bathroom.
6. Michelle Ragsdale for fresh squash from her garden.
7. USDA Field Office, Miami, 4 large cases of bottled water and the USDA Pampa office for 28 lbs. of food.
8. Highland Baptist Church for bringing 3 large boxes of personal hygiene items (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant and etc.)
NEEDS FOR: September 2011: Any canned food, Men and women’s tennis shoes, men’s small sized jeans, and little boy’s shoes (size 5 to 1). Help! BROWN SACKS. & PLASTIC BAGS.
